What is Biohacking?
It is the process of making changes to your lifestyle in order to “hack” your body so that you can always feel energized and amazing. Here are 3 ways to biohack yourself.
1. Change your eating routine
Did you know that by simply changing when you’re eating, you can biohack your body? Intermittent fasting is a great way to do this, and it is gaining more popularity as a way to lose weight, normalize insulin sensitivity and balance hormones especially Ghrelin (hunger hormone) and Leptin which signals your brain that you are full.
If you can’t fast for a long period of time, try eating fewer calories during your “fasting days” and then eat your usual amount of calories on non-fasting days.
2. Rewind yourself with nature
How many times do you walk barefoot in the grass? Probably not that many! We suggest that you try grounding as your next biohack.
Our feet act as electrical currents allowing the natural electrical charges that the earth produces flow through us. Grounding can reduce inflammation by lowering the stress on the body and can improve sleep.
3. Zone out
What you feed your brain is as important as what you feed your body. Meditation can be the ultimate brain hack if you do it regularly. If you feel that you can’t shut down your thoughts or stop your brain, try guided meditation. In 2014, the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University released a report stating that, apart from thousands of years of anecdotal evidence, some of the benefits of meditation that have now been proven in clinical studies and trials include: lowering the risk for overeating, reduces pain, reduces stress, reduces headaches and more.
