Are you tired of seeing pimple after pimple? Especially when you are taking care of your skin and realize that the pimple that is bothering you is almost gone but suddenly you have two or three more.
Acne can be caused by multiple factors including hormones (our chemical messengers that control everything!). We might not be able to control EVERYTHING but we can definitely control a big piece of the puzzle which is our diet. Diet plays a HUGE role if you want to have beautiful, glowing skin.
First, let’s understand why some face washes don’t always work.
Hormonal changes increase testosterone which can be converted to DHT - we do not want that! DHT is a hormonal by-product of testosterone, that naturally occurs in men and women but it can cause problems when its levels fluctuate.
Did you know that Zinc is needed in order to stop the conversion of testosterone to DHT? DHT can also stimulate over-activity of the sebaceous glands, and is the same hormone that causes men to lose hair.
The problem with a face wash is that you are killing the bacteria - including the good bacteria that we need in our skin - but you are not fixing the root cause of the problem. The problem was not the bacteria, the problem starts with testosterone. Obviously good hygiene matters, but diet matters the most!
Try increasing your levels of Zinc, Vitamin A, which can also help to decrease sebum production & keratin buildup plus it is great for your skin, and B vitamins (needed for healthy skin and nails). In your diet, by adding nuts, sprouted grains, fish and lots of vegetables. Be sure to also drink a lot of water and incorporate fibre to your diet through flax seeds, chia seeds and vegetables for a beautiful, glowing skin.
